About Swachh Bharat Mission
Initiated in 2014 the Swachh Bharat Mission is a centrally sponsored scheme that was launched to make India Open Defecation Free (ODF). In 2019 the Government of India reached the mark of building 100 million individual household toilets across India. By building 100 million individual household toilets in India the Government of India has made a total of 6 lakh villages Open Defecation Free.
The Government of India is still providing financial assistance to all the citizens who want to build a toilet in their house. The benefit of the Pradhan Mantri Free Toilet Scheme will be available only to those people who do not have toilets in their homes and who are eligible for the Pradhan Mantri Free Toilet Scheme
