To expose the self-help group members of India to the latest technology the Government of India introduced the Namo Drone Didi Scheme. The government of India approved this scheme so that women’s self-help group members could get a subsidy on the purchase of drones that would help them with farming. With the help of drones, the female citizens of self-help groups can spray fertilizers and pesticides on the farming without wasting a lot of time. Only the female citizens of SHG are eligible to avail the benefits of the Namo Drone Didi Scheme.
What is the Namo Drone Didi or Lakhpati Didi Scheme?
The central government of India introduced the Namo Drone Didi or Lakhpati Didi Scheme to provide Drone services to the female citizens of SHG. For the implementation of the scheme, the central government of India has proposed a total of INR 1261 crores. According to the Government of India, 15000 female citizens who belong to the self-help group are eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme. With the help of drones, female citizens can do rental services in the agricultural sector by spring fertilizers and pesticides effectively. A total of 15000 female citizens will avail of the drone services from the period 2023-24 to 2025-2026.

The objective of the Namo Drone Didi Scheme
The main objective of launching the scheme is to uplift the social status and standard of living of all the female citizens who belong to the self-help group. With the help of this scheme, female citizens can become self-dependent and can start earning. By using the drones correctly the female citizens of SHG can use them for rental services in the agriculture sector. By providing drones the Government of India will expose the self-help group members to the latest technology. The Government of India will provide a subsidy of 80% of the total amount of drones or up to a maximum of INR 8 lakh.
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicants must be a permanent member of SHG.
- The annual income of the applicant’s family must be at least INR 1 lakh.

- To become a Drone Didi or Lakhpati Didi the applicant must annual household income is more than INR 1 lakh with an average monthly income of INR 10,000 or more sustained for at least 4 agricultural seasons and/ or four business cycles.
