The central government of India has launched the Ullas scheme to provide adult education to all the citizens of India who are not educated. There are a total of 25.76 crore non-literate individuals in the 15 years and above age group who are illiterate in India according to the 2011 Census. This Scheme is only running on volunteerism the Government of India will provide incentives to all the volunteers based on their credits. The authorities are all set to provide educational facilities to more than 5 crore uneducated citizens with the help of the Ullas scheme.

Objective of Ullas Scheme
The main objective of launching the scheme is to increase the literacy rate in India significantly. The program focuses on imparting functional literacy including reading, writing, and numeracy skills, and enriches learners with critical life skills, fostering lifelong learning. With the help of this scheme, citizens can learn various life skills like financial literacy, digital literacy, legal literacy, healthcare and awareness, childcare and education, family welfare, etc. For the implementation of the scheme, the Government of India has set up a total budget of INR 1037.90 crores. Out of the total INR 700 crores will be given by the central government of India.
