The Ministry of Health and Family Affairs of India launched the Janani Suraksha Yojana. All the financially unstable female citizens of India who are currently pregnant are eligible to apply for the Janani Suraksha Yojana Online. The scheme will be implemented in all union territories and states of India, with a special focus on low-performing states (LPS). The selected applicants under the scheme will receive financial assistance from the authorities to get proper healthcare facilities. What is Janani Suraksha Yojana?

To provide financial assistance and other benefits to financially unstable pregnant women in India the Ministry of Health Affairs launched the Janani Suraksha Yojana. The financial assistance of INR 1400 to 1000 will be given to all the selected female candidates under the yojana. The financial assistance will be transferred directly to the selected applicant’s bank account. The main aim of launching this scheme is to reduce maternal and infant mortality by promoting institutional delivery among pregnant women, especially those with weak socio-economic status i.e. women from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and BPL households.

  • All pregnant women delivering in government health centers, such as Sub Centers (SCs)/Primary Health Centers (PHCs)/Community Health Centers (CHCs)/First Referral Units (FRUs)/general wards of district or state hospitals.
  • All BPL/Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) women deliver in government health centers, such as SC/PHC/CHC/FRU/general wards of the district or state hospital.
  • BPL/SC/ST women in accredited private institutions.
