The Assam state government launched the Assam Nijut Moina Scheme 2024. To provide financial assistance to all the female citizens of Assam state who want to pursue higher education the Assam state government introduced the Assam Nijut Moina Scheme 2024. According to the Government of Assam state, a total of 10 lakh female citizens across the state will avail the financial assistance under the Assam Nijut Moina Scheme 2024. With the help of this scheme, the Assam state government will provide financial assistance to female students studying in school, graduation, or post-graduation. โน1,500 cr Under Nijut Moina scheme (Sanctioned)
The chief minister of Assam state has launched a total of INR 1500 crore budget for the implementation of the Nijut Moina scheme. The budget will help to provide financial assistance to all the female citizens who cannot afford proper education in Assam state. The financial aid of INR 1000 to 2500 per month will be given to the selected female students under the Assam Nijut Moina Scheme 2024. By providing financial assistance for the education of female citizens the Assam state government will also reduce the chances of child marriage in the state.
Assam Nijut Moina Scheme First Installment Released
The Assam Government launched the Nijut Moina Scheme on October 6, 2024, at the Veterinary College Ground in Khanapara, Guwahati, attracting over 24,000 girl students from various districts. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma introduced the initiative aimed at providing financial support to encourage girls’ education and reduce dropout rates. The scheme offers monthly stipends of Rs. 1,000 for students in Classes 11 and 12, Rs. 1,250 for degree students, and Rs. 2,500 for post-graduate students, with funds directly transferred to their bank accounts on the 11th of each month, excluding breaks.
The primary objective of this initiative is to reduce dropout rates by providing financial support to students. Furthermore, CM indicated plans to introduce a similar scheme for boys in the following year. However, certain groups, including married students and those enrolled in private institutions, will not be eligible for these stipends. The CM highlighted that the scheme is designed to empower girls, enhance their independence, and reduce child marriage in the state.

The main objective of launching the Assam Nijut Moina Scheme is to education rate among female citizens in Assam state. With the help of this scheme, The Assam state government will make sure that female students will pursue higher education after completing their class 12th examination. By providing financial assistance The Assam state government can significantly reduce the dropout rate among female students. This scheme will empower female students and increase gender equality in the Assam state. This scheme will all also eliminate social evil like child marriages in the state. The applicants can fill out the application form online at the comfort of their homes without visiting anywhere.

Scope of Applicability
- Financial assistance in the form of admission incentives will you given to the selected female students who are currently enrolled in government educational Institutes.
Mode of Payment Under Scheme
- The financial assistance under the scheme will be transferred to the applicant’s bank account monthly through the DBT process.
Assam Nijut Moina Scheme Application Process 2024
STEP 1: Firstly the applicant must take the application form from their Institute and fill up the application form correctly with all the correct details.
STEP 2: After carefully filling up the application form and attaching necessary documents the applicant must submit the application form back to their Institute.
STEP 3: The registrar/principals will collect and verify the application forms and submit the correct data for auto-verification in the portal.
STEP 4: The selected applicants will receive a certificate from the authorities to help them identify their selection under the scheme.
STEP 5: All Heads of the Institute shall notify one or two Nodal Teachers to implement the Assam Nijut Moina Scheme 2024 in their respective institute.
STEP 6: The applicants must consult with their guardians before availing the financial assistance under the scheme.
