What is Assam Orunodoi 3.0
Honโble Chief Minister of Assam Sri Himanta Biswa, has taken the initiative to introduce Assam Orunodoi 3.0 Scheme. The Orunodoi Scheme has been launched on 2nd October 2020. Assam Orunodoi 3.0 is an expanded welfare initiative designed to provide financial support to economically disadvantaged women across Assam. This upgraded version of the Orunodoi scheme aims to enhance the number of beneficiaries to 37 lakh, up from the previous 17 lakh. Each eligible woman will receive Rs. 1,250 per month, an increase from the earlier amount of Rs. 830.
The scheme will provide the benefit of the scheme to low-income households, providing direct bank transfers to ensure timely and efficient assistance. The financial assistance will be credited directly to the beneficiaries through Direct Bank Transfer (DBT). This scheme helps in economic independence of the women and continuous improvement in health and nutritional level of their dependent children.
