After successfully becoming the Prime Minister of India for the third time, Mr Narendra Modi has extended the PM Awas Yojana Gramin 2024. The central government of India is all set to build more than 3 Crore houses in rural areas under the extended PM Awas Yojana Gramin. With the help of this scheme, the Government of India will increase the social status and standard of living of all the financially unstable citizens living in rural areas. This scheme will significantly reduce the number of homeless citizens in India by providing permanent housing.

PM Awas Yojana Gramin Scheme Cost
- The cost under PMAY-G is shared between the Centre and the States in the ratio of 60:40
Process of Releasing Financial Assistance to the Beneficiaries
- Firstly, the state/union territory must figure out the number of installments and the amount of each installment. According to the central government, there should be at least 3 installments. House construction can have only the following 7 stages/levels viz.,
- House Sanction
- Foundation
- Plinth
- Windowsill
- Lintel
- Roof cast
- Completed
- All state/union territories must pay the first installment at the time of sanction. After paying the first installment the states/union territory must create a road map for paying the remaining installment for the stages of construction of the houses:-
- Foundation
- Plinth
- Windowsill
- Lintel
- Roof cast
- Completed
- To track the progress of the construction of the house, the 2nd installment should be mapped to either the Foundation or Plinth Level, and the 3rd installment should be mapped to either Windowsill / Lintel / Roof cast level.
PM Awas Yojana Gramin Amount
- Financial assistance for the construction of a new house under PMAY-G in plane areas is INR 1.20 lakh and in hill station, it is INR 1.30 lakh.
Other Benefits of PM Awas Yojana Gramin
- According to the Government of India, the minimum size of the house under the scheme is 25 Sq. Mt.
- The Government of India is also providing financial help of INR 12,000 for the building of toilets in rural areas.
- The Government of India is also making efforts to provide piped drinking water across the rural areas.
- The governor of India is also providing 1 LPG gas cylinder per house built under the PM Awas Yojana Gramin.
- A 95-day employment opportunity will be given to the applicants under the MANREGA scheme.

STEP 1: All the applicants who clear the eligibility criteria official PM Awas website and fill out the application form to avail of the benefits of PM Awas Yojana Gramin.
STEP 2: Once the applicant reaches the home page of the official website the applicant must click on the option Awassoft – Data Entry.
STEP 3: Now the applicant must click on the option login under the heading DATA ENTRY For AWAAS+.
STEP 4: The registration form will appear on your desktop screen the applicant must and all the details that are asked and attach all the necessary documents.
STEP 5: After entering all the details applicants must quickly review it and click on the option submit complete the process.
