What is the PM Internship Scheme?
The central government of India launched the scheme to help all the unemployed youth of India get skill development training while also earning. With the help of this scheme, the youth of India can apply for internships in various companies and start their journey. According to the Government of India, the selected youth under the scheme will receive a monthly stipend of up to INR 5000. The respective company will provide a monthly stipend of up to INR 4500 and the Government of India will provide an extra INR 500 for each intern. With the help of this scheme, the unemployed youth did not have to depend on anyone for their day-to-day expenses anymore.

The young citizens can apply for internships in various sectors including including information technology, banking, healthcare, agriculture, and other industries.
Eligibility Criteria
- The citizens must be a permanent resident of India.
- The citizens must be a youth.
- The citizens must be currently unemployed.
- The citizens must have at least cleared class 10th.
- The citizens must be between the age group of 21 to 24 years.
Ineligibility Criteria
- All the citizens whose annual income is more than INR 8 lakh are not eligible to apply.
- All dose citizens whose family member is a government employee is not eligible to apply.
- Graduates from IITs, ILMs, National Law Universities, USER, NIDs, and IllTs are not eligible to apply for the scheme.
- Those having qualifications such as CA, and CMA. CS, MBBS, BDS. MBA, any master’s or higher degree.
- Those undergoing any skill, apprenticeship, internship or student training program under Central Government or State Government schemes.
- Those who have completed the apprenticeship. training under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) or the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) at any point.

Schedule of PM Internship Scheme
- From October 3 to October 10 the companies submit available positions on the internship portal.
- From October 12 to October 25 the candidates apply on the portal (First lot of applications).
- After October 26 the AI-generated shortlist was prepared.
- From October 27 to November 7 the companies will review and select candidates.
- From November 8 to November 15t the Candidates accept or reject internship offers.
PM Internship Scheme Registration Period
All the candidates who clear the eligibility criteria for the PM internship scheme can start the registration process on October 12th, 2024. All the interns who want to avail the benefits of the scheme must fill out the registration form as soon as possible. All the participating companies can submit their internship requirements on the portal from 3rd October to 10th October 2024. All the candidates are eligible to apply for various internships from October 12th to October 25th. The candidates must act quickly because after 25th October they are not eligible to apply for any internship available on the portal.

PM Internship Scheme Candidate Shortlisting Period
All the young citizens of India who have applied for the internship before 25th October will be shortlisted by the authorities. The Government of India has developed an AI tool that will match the qualifications of the intern and provide the best suitable internship according to their qualification. The AI tool will save a lot of time and effort of all the Government employees and the companies. The companies will start the shortlisting and selection procedure from 27th October to 7th November 2024. The interns will receive the internship offers from November 8th to November 15th. During this period the intern can accept or reject any offer according to their choice.
What will be the Candidate Shortlisting Process?
- The shortlisting process of the candidates will be based on the qualification of a particular candidate and requirements that are posted by the companies.
- The shortlisting process criteria prioritize lower employability and ensure broader representation and diversification across the applicant base will be considered.
- To ensure every candidate under the scheme will get internship offers the government has set up various tools that will give representation to all such segments of the population.
- A bunch of candidates will be sent to the companies where the companies have to select the interns according to their having processes and requirements.
- Once an offer is sent by the company to the candidate, the candidate will be able to convey acceptance through the Portal.

STEP 1: All the citizens of India who have applied for the PM Internship Scheme are requested to visit the official PM Internship website to check the PM Internship Scheme merit list.
